Welcome to the Why I’m Not Writing This Week series!
If you’re not familiar with this series, just know that the only thing writers love more than writing is avoiding writing. And I am definitely no exception. Every Friday, I list five things that distracted me from my writing this week.
I encourage you to share with me your reasons for not writing every week too and I’ll share my favorites in the latest edition.
Doctor’s Appointment
I went back to the Doctor’s this week for my third-trimester check-up. All is well with me and baby boy, luckily! From this point forward, I’ll be going back every other week. With all these visits, I’m finally getting comfortable having my blood drawn.
Tropical Storm Arthur
While we’re not on the coast, so we’re not feeling the huge effects of the storm but we’re still very aware of it. It’s been raining pretty much non-stop since Monday evening and we’ve been on flash flood warning multiple times. I enjoy the rain, but it is a bit distracting.
Anime Binge
After starting season two of Fruits Basket last week, I’ve been in a mood to watch more anime. I’ve been through a few shows since last week, including season 2 of Hi-Score Girl, both seasons of Aggresuko and Ouran Host Club. Any anime fans have suggestions for my next watch?
Reading Like Crazy
In the last week, I’ve been burning through books like I haven’t since I was a teenager. I’ve finished three, just in my free time between work and sleep. I hope to share my reviews of some of these with you soon!
Starting To Return To Normal
Like many other states, North Carolina has started reopening from our Stay-At-Home order. Many restaurants expect to open this weekend again, as well as public pools, just in time for Memorial Day. Since I’m in a high-risk community, I still have to stay home, but it is a bit of a relief to see other things returning to normal.
