Welcome to the Why I’m Not Writing This Week series!
If you’re not familiar with this series, just know that the only thing writers love more than writing is avoiding writing. And I am definitely no exception. Every Friday, I list five things that distracted me from my writing this week.
I encourage you to share with me your reasons for not writing every week too and I’ll share my favorites in the latest edition.
Goodbye April, Hello May
It is officially May. I normally love April, but this has been one of the weirdest and longest months of my life. It feels like it should be 2021 already. But either way, I’m excited to welcome in May and the (hopefully) better news it will bring.
We Have A Crib!
We finally have a crib! It’s set up and looks baby-ready. We, on the other hand, are not quite ready yet and see have more prepping to do. But it was a big relief to get such a big requirement off our checklist and to be able to move down tour next task.
Doctor’s Appointment
I went back to the doctor this week for the last of my monthly pre-natal check-ups. From this point onward, I’ll be going every two weeks instead of every four. Everything went well, but it’s very odd and uncomfortable being in a doctor’s office during a pandemic. While the staff was great, you can definitely feel the tension all around you.
Eating Out
While I know I shouldn’t for a number of health and safety reasons right now, I have just been craving fast food like crazy. This weekend, my husband and I picked up drive-through twice, for the same restaurant. It’s pitiful but at least my belly is happy.
Sync Summer Series
If you love audiobooks, take a look at the Sync Summer Series. While the program is designed to be a free audiobook series for teens and students, it is open to anyone who wants to participate! Each week, they pair two themed novels together for you to compare and contrast. The first pair in the series started yesterday so this is a great time to jump in!
