Why I'm Not Writing This Week 9/21

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

INDIE AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT

I'm still looking for authors to participate in my Indie Author Spotlight. This gives independently published authors the chance to have their book exposed to thousands of new readers every month. As this is our first month, your chances of being chose will be much higher than any other month. So don't wait and  check out my page!

BoJack Horseman

The newest season of BoJack Horseman came out last week and if you’ve read my WINW posts before, you know my husband and I absolutely love this show. We binged the new season in a day and completely loved it. Then, after a couple of days, we went back and watched it again.

Hurricane Florence

The hurricane didn’t hit us here quite as bad as expected. We did lose power for a while and had a pretty bad roof leak, but didn’t see the effects nearly as badly as many of my friends and family members further East and South.

Inked Voices

I found a website this week called Inked Voices, which allows writers to be matched up with small, focused workshop groups for a very reasonable monthly or annual cost. I’ve been part of writing workshop groups in the past, but this one feels completely different. Within a few hours of joining the site, I received a personal email from the founder, connecting with me and asking what she could do to help. I was blown away. If you’re interested in joining make sure you mention that Sarah Foil referred you and you’ll receive 10% off!

Rejections

The rejections continued this week. I started out with 4 rejections and ended up with more than 10 by the end of the day yesterday. Where they felt like small pebbles in my shoe last week, they feel more like boulders pelting down on my from above now. I’m still trying to stay positive though and my husband has been a huge comfort to me.
