Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
Hello June!
Over the weekend, I welcomed in June and the start of “summer” with gusto. Summer is my favorite season as the year, and while I know it doesn’t official start for a few more weeks, many of the summer-type events start up in June, like festivals and pool openings and other awesome things. Good bye to the very long season of Spring and hello June!
The Golden Girls
My weekly binge-watch has been this classic TV show. I’ve heard a lot about the show, but have actually never watched it. Daniel and l are completely engrossed in it, though. It’s easily one of the funniest sitcoms we’ve seen recently and love all the characters to death.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
On Saturday, Daniel and I went on a double date to dinner and a movie. We watched the new Godzilla movie in theaters. Daniel absolutely loves Godzilla movies so he was excited. I enjoyed the first movie in the series and was again, pleasantly surprised with the sequel. I can’t say it’s anything life changing, and it’s a good movie for those who don’t enjoy heavy action and special effects, but it was an awesome way to spend an evening.
Time with the Boys
Before my big trip, I stayed at my parent’s house and got to spend time with my dad and brothers. While I’ve been lucky to see my family a lot so far this year, a night with just the boys in the family was a special treat. It was a great evening!
Los Angeles
Speaking of the big trip, I’m about halfway through a girls week in Los Angeles. I’m traveling with two of my closest friends from college that I only get to see once a year or so. We’re having an amazing time so far and it’s hard for me to believe I have to head home in just a few days.
