Why I'm Not Writing This Week 3/16

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing better than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

Writer's Retreat

I went on my first writer's retreat last weekend and had a great time! Technically it was a retreat for creatives, so I spent time with writers, artists, entrepreneurs. It was a cool group of people and the town we stayed in was beautiful. The best part is, I got 30 pages of my novel done!

Nailed It!

This new show on Netflix is HILARIOUS! They get the worst bakers they can find to recreate beautiful masterpieces with terrible results. Daniel, his sister and I watched them all pretty much in one night. For someone like me who is terrible at cooking and baking, this show made me feel a lot better about myself!

Day Light Savings

We've shifted an hour, which means brighter nights and darker mornings. So far I've struggled getting to work on time and stayed up way too late. Daniel loves it since it gives him more time to finish up the yard work during the week, but so far I'm not seeing the benefit. Hopefully, things will even out soon.

Ugh... More Snow...

We got what was, hopefully, the last snow of the year. Here we only got an inch or two and it mostly melted away by the evening, but a lot of my friends in the North East got a real blizzard that I think is still piling up. Even for someone like me who hates snow, the pictures they shared have been pretty crazy.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day!  I used to love this holiday as a kid and my elementary school made a big deal out of it, leave fake leprechaun prints around the building and giving everyone chocolate. As an adult, I haven't celebrated it quite as much, which I feel like is the opposite of everyone else. But regardless, if you celebrate, I hope you have a great time! If you don't, hope you have a great regular old weekend.
