Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
Happy Halloween!
I hope you all had a fun, safe and spooky Halloween! We had a great time celebrating over the weekend, both at family and friend parties. I dressed up as Yzma from Emperor’s New Groove and Daniel dressed up as Hades from Hercules. We also enjoyed a special screening of What We Do In The Shadows to stay in the spooky mood!
American Housewife
This is my newest sitcom, which I found on accident when I got to the end of another show on Hulu and this started playing. But I’m absolutely loving it. Katy Mixon is delight to watch on screen and the other characters are funny as well. Each episode is just as hilarious as the last. I highly recommend it!
Big Weather Problems
The weather has been flip flopping all over the place this week. We had 80 degree weather, frost, tropical-storm-esque winds and rain, and burning sun, all within three days. It’s been exhausting, not knowing what we’re going to wake up to everyday. While I don’t like winter, I am looking forward to more consistent weather soon.
First Day of NaNoWriMo
Today marks the first day of National Novel Writing Month and I’m starting my new project, THE BLOOD ON THE MOUNTAIN. If this is your first year doing NaNo, or if you’ve struggled to win in the past, check out my social media channels on Twitter , Facebook and Instagram for daily tips and tricks to help you crush your word count.
Crazy, Crazy Week
In additional to the holiday, crazy weather and NaNoWriMo, my week has been insane. I had a doctor AND a dentist visit recently. And I’ll be honest, I’m just having a hard time keeping up with life right now. My husband and I are planning on making some adjustments soon to help us get caught up.
