Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
SCBWI Carolinas Conference
I had an absolutely amazing time at the SCBWI of the Carolina’s conference in Charlotte last weekend. I meet great writers, both beginning and published. I got to connect with some authors that I’ve worked with on my blog (for real, in person!). I also had the opportunity to see some great panels by writers, agents and editors. Thanks to everyone who helped with the conference and took a few minutes to hang out with me.
Happy Birthday Dad!
I’m so happy I got a chance to celebrate my dad’s birthday with him over the weekend. We had a delicious Italian dinner with my whole family (minus one brother) and grandparents. I was wiped out from such a long weekend, but still glad I got to see him and spend time together. Happy birthday Dad! Love you.
Noragami
I’ve been in a big anime mood lately, so I decided to rewatch this dark comedy about demons, gods and a little bit of love. I sped through the first season, which I watched a few years ago, and am excited to have some time this weekend to get through the second.
Causebox
My Fall Causebox arrived this week and GUYS! It’s so beautiful. Each item is prettier than I imagined it would be when the spoilers were announced and I love that these are going to help small woman-owned businesses around the world. If you’re interested in receiving a causebox, click here.
Rest In Peace, Robyn
I was so heart broken on Sunday to learn about Robyn's passing, especially so soon after seeing her this weekend. While I have been too busy to participate in our critique group recently, Robyn was a big support for me in starting my writing career after graduate school. I hope to carry her passion for this industry with me moving forward.
