Why I'm Not Writing This Week 4/26
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
Happy Easter!
This weekend, my husband and I traveled to Jonesboro, Tennessee to visit my familiar for Easter this weekend. It was so great to see my grandparents from both my mother and father’s side of the family. We celebrated with a visit to church and a delicious breakfast. We even made it back home in time for an awesome dinner with my husband’s family as well.
CampNaNo
With the Easter holiday and #DVPit on Tuesday, I got a couple days behind on CampNaNoWriMo. Being so close to the end of the month and missing two days could be a death sentence for my project, but luckily, I hit the climax of the story on Wednesday, which is so much easier to write. So I was able to write 4,000 words yesterday and am now ahead of schedule.
Drunk History
My husband and I have really been enjoy’s Comedy Central’s Drunk History lately. It’s been a fun way to learn about weird stories from history you may not have learned in school. But it’s also absolutely hilarious to see your favorite celebrities get drunk and get really pumped about history.
Dentist Visit
I had to do one of my least favorite things in the world this week and go to the dentist for my biannual cleaning. Things went well, but I still absolutely hate it every time. It’s a painful and expensive hour of my day that I could have probably spent writing (or watching Hulu).
Poetry Reading At Salem College
Last night, I attend a poetry reading at my alma mater, Salem College. It was great to be back on my home turf for a literary event. The poetry read was absolutely fantastic. Some of my former classmates read their work from books they’ve published and it was fun to catch up with them and hear their work.
