Why I'm Not Writing This Week 11/15
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
NaNoWriMo
At the end of the second full week, I’m over halfway there and feeling the burn. I’m really starting to convince my characters to show me what the actual heart of the story is, and I’m enjoying it. I can’t say all of my writing has been good at this point, but at least I’m gettin gthe story laid out in front of me to work from in the future.
C-c-c-old Weather
Temperatures really dropped this week and I am feeling it. I hate cold weather anytime of the year, but with this sudden change from hot to cold here in North Carolina, I’m miserable. Luckily, my husband has our wood-burning stove running most of the day and Pluto is cold enough on his own to want to cuddle with me on the couch.
Big Hair Cut
I’ve really big struggling with my hair over the last few months, since I’ve been too busy to take good care of it. So, I went to my hair salon and got everything cut off. People keep telling me it’s not as short as I think, but goodness, it really feels like it.
Busy, Busy, Busy
I have been working like crazy lately, but not always on my writing unfortunately. Instead, I’ve been designing websites, managing social media, editing manuscripts and helping out my writing coaching clients every day. It’s been a ton of fun though. If you need any help with your website, social media or writing, feel free to reach out to me via my contact page.
Holiday Prep
Somehow, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which is usually when I start doing my Holiday shopping. I’ve had a ton of fun picking out gifts for my family this year, but haven’t actually ordered anything yet (oops!). I should probably get started on that this weekend.
